Where to find an appraisal for sports object?

I have several items from a world series in the 30’s. They were given to my grandfather by the player, now they belong to me and I was thinking about selling them.

Where do you get an appraisal for these items? Is there a source online? or a book? What would I look up in the phone book? Would an antiques dealer be able to research this?
Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

check throughout the net about appraisals. Baseballguru.com is a pretty good one. Also check in your yellow pages for anyone who sells sports memorabilia. just don’t accept the first price they say. Also put them on E-bay and see what you are offered.
